Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the multicooker before any inspection. Allow it to cool completely if recently used.
- Check lid closure: Open and firmly close the lid. Make sure the silicone gasket is seated evenly and no food debris is trapped around the rim or hinge that could prevent full closure.
- Inspect lid lock tab: Look at the plastic/metal locking tab on the lid and the latch slot on the body. Clean away any dried food or residue with a damp cloth. Ensure the tab moves freely when you open/close the lid.
- Test lid lock click: Slowly close the lid and listen/feel for a distinct click as the lock engages. If there is no click or it feels loose, the lid lock assembly may be worn.
- Power reset: With the lid properly closed, plug the unit back in and press Cancel or Stop, then select a short program (e.g., sauté) to see if the error clears.
- Internal check (advanced): Unplug the unit, remove the inner pot, and look down into the lid lock area from the top. If accessible, gently press the lid lock microswitch actuator with a non-metal tool to confirm it moves freely. Do not bend or force any parts.
If E1 persists after cleaning and confirming proper closure, the lid lock switch or its wiring is likely faulty and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
