Possible Causes
Inner pot too hot from previous cycle, No liquid in pot, Burnt food stuck to bottom causing localized overheating, Faulty temperature calibration on control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use oven mitts when handling the inner pot; it may be very hot.
- Allow to cool: Press Cancel, unplug the cooker, remove the inner pot, and let both the pot and base cool for at least 20–30 minutes.
- Check for burnt food: Inspect the bottom of the inner pot and the heater plate for burnt-on food. Soak and clean the pot thoroughly; wipe the heater plate with a damp cloth once cool.
- Add sufficient liquid: Before restarting, ensure there is enough liquid in the pot for the selected program.
- Restart: Plug the unit back in and start with a lower temperature setting if available.
If “HOT” appears immediately on a cold unit, the temperature sensing circuit may be faulty and should be checked by a service center.
