Possible Causes
Lid not properly locked, Lid detection switch misaligned, Broken lid hinge sensor, Debris preventing lid from closing fully
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged and cool before adjusting the lid.
- Re-seat the lid: Open and close the lid several times, making sure to align the arrows or marks and rotate fully into the locked position.
- Clean hinge and rim: Inspect the hinge area and the top rim of the cooker body for dried food or foreign objects. Clean thoroughly with a damp cloth.
- Check lid lock movement: Observe the locking mechanism as you open and close the lid. It should move smoothly without sticking.
- Test non-pressure mode: Try starting a sauté or brown program (if allowed with lid open). If that works but pressure modes still show a lid error, the lid sensor is likely at fault.
If the lid message remains even with a clean, properly locked lid, the lid detection switch or hinge sensor may need adjustment or replacement by a technician.
