Possible Causes
Worn or hardened silicone seal in steam release valve, Valve not seated correctly, Debris under valve seat, Damaged valve spring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep clear of the steam path. Allow the cooker to depressurize before disassembly.
- Inspect valve position: Confirm the valve is fully turned or set to the Sealing position.
- Clean valve seat: After cooling, remove the valve and clean the seat area on the lid. Remove any residue.
- Check silicone parts: Inspect any silicone seals or gaskets in the valve for cracks or hardening. Replace if needed.
If hissing continues with a clean, correctly assembled valve, replace the steam release valve assembly.
