Possible Causes
Start button membrane worn or damaged, Keypad ribbon cable loose, Control board input circuit failure, Child lock or safety mode enabled
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before any physical inspection.
- Check for lock mode: Consult the user manual to see if your model has a child lock or control lock feature. Disable it if active.
- Button test: Press other buttons (menu, time, temperature) and see if the display responds. If only the Start button fails, the keypad is suspect.
- Clean around buttons: Wipe the control panel with a slightly damp cloth to remove grease or residue that may interfere with touch sensitivity.
- Power reset: Unplug for 5 minutes, then plug back in and try again.
If the Start button remains unresponsive while others work, the control panel assembly or keypad membrane likely needs replacement.
