- Clean components: Wash the float, cap, and surrounding lid area with warm soapy water. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
- Inspect silicone cap: Check for cracks, tears, or hardening. Replace if any damage is found.
- Reassemble correctly: Install the float valve in the correct orientation and push the silicone cap firmly onto the stem.
If leaking persists, the float valve assembly may need replacement.
