Possible Causes
Inner pot not seated correctly, Deformed or warped inner pot base, Food stuck and burning on heating plate, Failed thermal cutoff or NTC misreading high temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool completely. Do not touch the heating plate while hot.
- Check pot seating: Remove the inner pot and inspect the heating plate. Ensure there is no debris or food residue preventing full contact. Clean the plate with a soft, damp cloth (unit unplugged).
- Inspect inner pot: Place the pot on a flat surface and check if it rocks or is visibly warped. A warped pot can cause hot spots and trigger E3. Replace the pot if deformed.
- Avoid dry heating: Ensure there is sufficient liquid in the pot for the selected program. Running high-heat programs with very little liquid can cause overheat errors.
- Check thermal cutoff: From the underside, locate the thermal fuse/thermal cutoff attached near the heating plate. If it has opened (no continuity), the unit may overheat or fail to regulate temperature. Replace with the same rating if defective.
- Test again: After cleaning and verifying the pot, add at least 2 cups of water and run a low-pressure or sauté program to confirm normal operation.
