Possible Causes

Failed lid NTC sensor, Broken lid sensor wiring through hinge, Loose connector on lid sensor harness, Steam leakage causing localized overheating at lid sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Ensure the cooker is unplugged and fully depressurized before working on the lid.

  • Inspect lid seal and steam path: Remove the silicone sealing ring and clean the lid thoroughly, including the steam release valve and float valve. Blocked steam paths can cause abnormal temperature readings.
  • Check lid sensor wiring: On models with a wired lid sensor, open the top cover (if accessible) or hinge area and inspect the small harness leading to the lid NTC. Look for pinched, cut, or broken wires.
  • Connector check: Trace the lid sensor harness to the main control board and re-seat the connector. Ensure it is fully latched.
  • Sensor replacement: If the wiring is intact but E4 persists, the lid NTC sensor may be defective. Replace the lid temperature sensor assembly specific to your Ambiano model.
  • Reassemble and test: Refit the sealing ring, ensure the lid closes smoothly, then test with water only on a short pressure program.
