Possible Causes
Valve left in venting position, Worn or missing silicone valve cap, Mineral scale preventing valve closure, Damaged valve spring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not place hands or face near the steam vent while the cooker is operating. Allow it to depressurize before servicing.
- Check valve position: Ensure the steam release valve is turned to the sealing position for pressure cooking.
- Inspect valve cap: Remove the valve and check the small silicone cap or gasket underneath. Replace if cracked, hardened, or missing.
- Descale valve: Soak the valve in a solution of equal parts white vinegar and water to dissolve mineral deposits, then rinse and dry.
- Replace valve: If the valve spring is weak or the body is damaged, replace the entire steam release valve assembly.
