Possible Causes
Shorted heating element to chassis, Pinched or bare wire touching metal frame, Moisture inside base, Failed suppression capacitor or MOV
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Do not repeatedly reset a breaker that trips. Unplug the cooker and do not use it until the fault is corrected.
- Visual inspection: Remove the base and look for obvious signs of arcing, burned insulation, or moisture.
- Check heating element: With a multimeter, test resistance between each heating element terminal and the metal chassis. Any reading other than infinite indicates a ground fault; replace the element.
- Inspect wiring harness: Look for wires pinched between panels or with damaged insulation. Repair or replace as needed.
- Dry moisture: If there is evidence of liquid inside, dry thoroughly and allow 24 hours before retesting.
- Replace damaged components: If suppression components (capacitors, MOVs) are cracked or burned, replace the main control board.
