Possible Causes

Blocked steam vent in lid, Clogged condensation collector or steam channel, Failed lid temperature sensor, Excessive food splatter on lid sensor area

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and let it cool completely. Never open a pressurized cooker until pressure has fully released according to the user manual.

  • Clean steam vent and lid: Remove the steam vent cap (if removable) and wash it thoroughly. Use a small brush or toothpick to clear any food residue from the vent hole and steam channel.
  • Empty condensation collector: Remove the condensation cup on the side or back of the unit, empty it, and rinse. Ensure it is seated properly when reinstalled.
  • Wipe lid interior: Clean the underside of the lid, especially around any visible sensor or metal disc. Remove sticky residue that can trap heat.
  • Check gasket (if equipped): On pressure-style Aroma multicookers, inspect the silicone gasket for deformation or misalignment that could affect heat distribution. Reseat or replace if damaged.
  • Test with water only: Add 2–3 cups of water to the inner pot and run a basic program. If E4 appears again quickly, the lid sensor or its wiring may be faulty and should be inspected from the inside of the lid and replaced if necessary.
  • Professional service: If the lid assembly is riveted or sealed and you cannot access the sensor safely, contact Aroma support or a technician for lid sensor replacement.
