Possible Causes
Broken lid sensor wiring in hinge area, Failed lid NTC sensor, Loose lid sensor connector on control board, Damaged flex cable between lid and body
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit. Do not operate with the lid partially disassembled.
- Inspect hinge wiring: Open the lid and look at the hinge area where wires or a flex cable pass from the body to the lid. If the insulation is cracked or wires are visibly broken, the lid sensor circuit is likely open.
- Check lid connector: On many Aroma models, the lid sensor harness plugs into the main PCB near the top. Remove the outer housing as needed and reseat this connector.
- Look for pinched wires: Ensure no wires are trapped between plastic panels or screws around the hinge.
- Test after reseating: Reassemble the housing, plug in, and try a basic program. If E6 persists, the lid sensor or flex cable may need replacement.
- Replacement: Replace the lid temperature sensor assembly or lid harness with an OEM Aroma part. This often requires partial lid disassembly and should be done carefully to avoid damaging the steam vent or gasket.
- Seek service if unsure: If the lid is sealed or you are not comfortable disassembling the hinge, contact a professional technician.
