Possible Causes
Misaligned lid latch, Broken lid-closed microswitch, Obstructed latch mechanism, Bent lid hook not reaching switch lever
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before manipulating the latch mechanism.
- Check lid closure: Open and firmly close the lid several times. Ensure it clicks into place and the latch fully engages.
- Inspect latch area: Look for rice grains, food debris, or dried sauce around the latch and hook. Clean thoroughly with a damp cloth and a small brush.
- Test switch actuation: With the unit unplugged and the outer cover removed (if necessary), locate the lid microswitch near the latch. Manually press the switch lever and listen for a distinct click.
- Adjust hook: If the lid hook is slightly bent and not pressing the switch, gently bend it back so it fully depresses the microswitch when closed.
- Replace microswitch: If the switch does not click or remains open/closed regardless of position, replace it with a similar rating microswitch used by Aroma.
- Re-test: Reassemble, plug in, and verify that the lid message clears when the lid is closed.
