Lid will not close or latch properly; cooker cannot start because the lid sensor is not engaged.

Safety first: Unplug the cooker before working on the lid or latch.

• Clean latch area: Inspect the latch and hook for rice grains or dried food. Clean thoroughly with a brush and damp cloth.
• Check hook alignment: Close the lid slowly and observe how the hook meets the latch. If it is misaligned, gently bend the hook back into position.
• Inspect spring: If the latch does not spring back, the internal spring may be broken and the latch assembly should be replaced.
• Check hinge screws: Tighten any loose hinge screws that may be causing misalignment.
• Replace latch assembly: If parts are cracked or broken, install a new Aroma latch or lid assembly.
