Possible Causes
Damaged or hardened silicone gasket (on pressure-style models), Misaligned lid gasket, Clogged steam vent, Overfilled inner pot
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: For pressure-capable Aroma multicookers, never force the lid open while under pressure. Allow full depressurization first.
- Check fill level: Ensure you are not exceeding the maximum fill line, especially for rice and beans which expand.
- Clean steam vent: Remove and clean the steam vent cap and any removable vent parts. Clear starch buildup with warm soapy water.
- Inspect gasket: Remove the silicone gasket from the lid (if equipped). Check for cracks, deformation, or hard spots. Clean and dry it, then reinstall evenly.
- Replace gasket if needed: If the gasket is damaged or no longer flexible, replace it with an Aroma-compatible lid gasket.
- Wipe lid mating surface: Clean the rim of the inner pot and the lid sealing surface to ensure a good seal.
