Possible Causes

Burned-out heating plate element, Loose or oxidized heater terminals, Broken heater wire, Failed heater relay on control board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool. The heater circuit is at mains voltage.

  • Confirm symptom: Start a cooking program with water in the pot. After 5–10 minutes, carefully feel the outside of the cooker body. If it remains completely cool, the heater is not energizing.
  • Inspect heater wiring: Remove the bottom cover and locate the two heavy-gauge wires going to the heating plate. Ensure they are firmly attached and not burnt.
  • Check for discoloration: Burn marks around the heater terminals indicate overheating and possible failure.
  • Continuity test (advanced): With the unit unplugged, use a multimeter to measure resistance across the heater terminals. An infinite reading indicates an open element that must be replaced.
  • Replace heating plate: If the element is open, replace the entire heating plate assembly with an Aroma-compatible part.
  • Consider control board: If the element tests good but never heats, the heater relay or triac on the control board may have failed and the board should be replaced.
