Possible Causes
Shorted NTC sensor, Sensor wires shorted to chassis, Excessive burnt-on residue on heating plate causing localized overheating, Failed control board interpreting sensor signal incorrectly
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the multicooker and let it cool fully. Do not touch the heating plate while hot.
- Clean the heating plate: Remove the inner pot and thoroughly clean the aluminum heating plate with a damp cloth. Remove any burnt food or oil that could cause hot spots. Dry completely before use.
- Check for moisture: If liquid has boiled over, moisture may be around the sensor. Allow the unit to air dry for several hours, or gently dry with a fan (unplugged).
- Inspect sensor wiring: Remove the bottom cover and look for melted insulation or wires touching each other or the metal chassis. Separate and insulate any damaged wires with high-temperature electrical tape or replace the harness.
- Test and replace sensor if needed: A sensor that reads near 0 Ω (short) at room temperature is defective. Replace the bottom NTC sensor with a compatible Bella part.
- If E3 persists: After cleaning and sensor replacement, persistent E3 may indicate a faulty control board temperature input circuit, which typically requires board replacement by a qualified technician.
