Possible Causes

Inner pot not seated properly, Cooking with insufficient liquid, Excessive burnt-on food on heating plate, Failed overheat sensor or thermal fuse partially opening under load

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely before further use.

  • Check inner pot seating: Ensure the stainless or nonstick inner pot is fully inserted and flat on the heating plate. Remove any foreign objects under the pot.
  • Clean contact surfaces: Wipe the bottom of the inner pot and the heating plate to remove oil, sugar, or burnt residue that can cause hot spots.
  • Use adequate liquid: For pressure and high-heat modes, ensure you are using at least the minimum liquid specified in the Bella manual (often 1–2 cups). Running dry will trigger overheat.
  • Inspect thermal sensor area: From the bottom, check that the overheat sensor or thermal fuse is firmly attached to the heating plate and not hanging loose.
  • Reset and test: After cooling and cleaning, plug in and try a low-heat program. If E7 recurs quickly, the overheat sensor or thermal fuse may be failing and should be replaced.
