Possible Causes
Inner pot not installed, Deformed inner pot bottom preventing contact, Faulty pot detection switch or weight sensor, Dirty or oxidized contact area on heating plate
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before inspecting internal components.
- Verify inner pot is installed: Some Bella models will show E8 if the pot is missing. Insert the correct Bella inner pot and ensure it sits flat.
- Inspect pot bottom: Check for warping or dents. A significantly warped pot may not engage the detection mechanism properly and should be replaced.
- Clean the heating plate: Wipe the plate and the bottom of the pot to remove residue that could interfere with contact or weight sensing.
- Check pot detection mechanism: From the underside, locate any spring-loaded switch or weight sensor under the heating plate. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck by debris.
- Replace detection switch if faulty: If the switch does not actuate when the pot is pressed down from above, the pot detection switch assembly may need replacement.
