Possible Causes
Damaged silicone sealing ring, Debris on lid sealing surface, Faulty float valve or safety valve, Lid not locked fully during pressure mode
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is fully depressurized and unplugged before opening the lid or handling valves.
- Inspect the silicone sealing ring: Remove the ring from the lid. Look for cracks, hardening, or deformation. Clean it with warm soapy water and dry thoroughly. Replace if damaged or more than 1–2 years old.
- Clean lid sealing surfaces: Wipe the metal rim of the inner pot and the lid groove where the ring sits. Remove any food residue.
- Check the float valve: Ensure the float pin moves freely up and down. Clean any starch buildup. Verify the small silicone cap on the float is intact.
- Verify lid lock position: Close and lock the lid according to the Bella manual. The handle or lock indicator should clearly show the locked position.
- Test with water: Add water and run a short pressure cycle. If E9 persists and steam is visibly escaping around the lid or valve, replace the sealing ring and, if needed, the float/safety valve assembly.
