Possible Causes
Lid not fully closed, Misaligned lid lock mechanism, Faulty lid position sensor, Debris in lid locking channel
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged when inspecting the lid mechanism.
- Verify correct closing procedure: Follow the Bella manual to align the lid arrows or marks and rotate/lock until it clicks.
- Clean the locking channel: Use a damp cloth or soft brush to remove dried food from the lid rim and body groove where the lock engages.
- Check lid lock movement: Observe the lock tab or slider while opening and closing. It should move freely without sticking. Apply a tiny amount of food-safe silicone lubricant if it is binding (avoid excess).
- Inspect lid sensor: If accessible, check the small switch or magnet/reed sensor that detects lid position. Ensure it is firmly mounted and aligned.
- Replace lid lock assembly: If the lock is cracked or the sensor does not respond, replace the lid lock / position sensor assembly.
