E8 error appears when trying to start a program; sometimes accompanied by a clicking sound from inside.

Safety first: Ensure the cooker is cool and unplugged before inspecting the lid lock mechanism.

• Check lid lock movement: With the lid open, locate the locking pin or hook. Move it gently by hand (if accessible). It should move smoothly without binding.
• Clean around lock: Food residue can jam the lock. Clean the area around the locking pin and lid ring with a damp cloth and a soft brush, then dry thoroughly.
• Listen for solenoid: Plug in the unit, close the lid, and start a pressure program. Listen for a click from the lid lock solenoid. If there is no sound, the solenoid or its wiring may be faulty.
• Inspect wiring (advanced): With power disconnected, remove the top cover to access the lid lock solenoid and sensor wiring. Ensure connectors are tight and wires are not broken or pinched.
