Possible Causes
Food stuck to bottom of inner pot, Insufficient liquid, High-sugar sauces causing scorching, Faulty temperature sensor reading high
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool before cleaning.
- Stir and deglaze: If HOT appears during cooking, stop the program, carefully open the lid (if not under pressure), and stir the contents. Scrape the bottom of the pot with a wooden spoon to release stuck food.
- Transfer and clean: Remove the food to another container. Take out the inner pot and wash it thoroughly, paying attention to any burnt-on areas.
- Adjust recipe: Add more liquid and avoid thick, sugary sauces directly on the bottom. Use Sauté only briefly, then switch to a lower-heat program.
- Sensor check: If HOT appears even with plenty of liquid and a clean pot, the temperature sensor may be faulty and require replacement.
