Display shows LID or a flashing lid icon; cooker will not start pressure or rice programs.

Safety first: Ensure the cooker is unplugged and cool before manipulating the lid.

• Re-seat lid: Open the lid fully, then close it firmly until you hear a click. Make sure the alignment marks on lid and body line up.
• Clean lid sensor area: On many Black+Decker models, a small plastic tab on the lid engages a sensor slot on the body. Clean both the tab and slot with a dry cloth to remove food or grease.
• Check for damage: Inspect the lid tab for cracks or missing pieces. If broken, the lid assembly may need replacement.
• Test other modes: Try a non-pressure mode like Sauté. If it works, but pressure modes show LID, the lid sensor circuit is likely at fault.
