• Gentle movement: Wiggle the lid handle gently side to side while turning to the open position. Do not force it.
• Check float valve: Ensure the float valve is fully down. Gently press it from inside the lid (if accessible) to confirm.
• Clean lock area: Once open, clean around the lid lock slot and pin with a brush and warm soapy water. Dry thoroughly.
• Inspect for damage: If the lock pin is bent or the spring is broken, the lid lock assembly should be replaced.
