Possible Causes
Lid not fully closed, Defective lid position microswitch, Damaged lid hinge mechanism, Broken lid switch wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the multicooker before inspecting the lid or internal parts.
- Check lid closure: Open and close the lid firmly. Make sure the silicone gasket and inner lid plate are seated correctly and not blocking the latch. Try starting a program again.
- Inspect lid latch: Look at the plastic latch hook on the lid and the metal/plastic catch on the body. If the latch is loose, cracked, or misaligned, the lid switch may not be actuated.
- Clean the lid area: Food residue around the hinge or latch can prevent full closure. Wipe with a damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
- Check lid switch movement (advanced): With the unit unplugged, gently press the lid switch actuator (usually a small plastic pin or lever near the hinge) and listen/feel for a click. If there is no click or it feels stuck, the lid switch may be faulty.
- When to call a technician: If the lid switch wiring or hinge assembly is damaged, replacement of the lid switch or complete lid assembly is recommended and should be done by a qualified technician.
