Possible Causes
Unplugged or broken NTC sensor lead, Failed NTC temperature sensor, Corroded connector on main control board, Damaged wiring harness between sensor and PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before any inspection.
- Power reset: Leave the unit unplugged for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in and try a simple program (e.g., reheat) to see if the error clears.
- Check for obvious damage: Turn the cooker upside down (unplugged) and inspect the underside for signs of melted plastic, burnt smell, or damaged wiring near the base where the sensor is mounted.
- Access the sensor (advanced): Remove the bottom cover (usually several screws). Locate the NTC sensor clipped to the underside of the inner pot area or heating plate. Ensure its connector is firmly seated on the main PCB and that the wires are not cut or pinched.
- Clean connectors: If you see light corrosion on the sensor plug, disconnect it (with power unplugged), clean gently with contact cleaner, let dry, reconnect, and reassemble.
- Replace sensor if needed: If the wiring is intact but E1 persists, the NTC sensor is likely defective and should be replaced with a Bosch-compatible temperature sensor.
