Possible Causes
Damaged or mis-seated silicone sealing ring, Steam release valve stuck in open position, Cracked lid or deformed inner lid plate, Faulty pressure sensor calibration
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the unit is cool and depressurized before opening the lid.
- Inspect sealing ring: Remove the silicone sealing ring from the lid. Check for cracks, hardening, deformation, or food buildup. Clean with warm soapy water, dry, and reinstall evenly. Replace if worn.
- Check steam valve position: Make sure the steam release knob is set to the correct pressure position (not venting) before starting a pressure program.
- Clean lid components: Remove the inner lid plate and anti-block shield. Clean all steam passages thoroughly to ensure proper sealing and pressure buildup.
- Check for lid damage: Look for warping or cracks in the lid or inner lid plate that could prevent sealing. Replace damaged parts.
- Test with water only: Add at least the minimum required water and run a short pressure program. If E5 persists and no steam leaks are visible, the pressure sensor or control board may require professional service.
