Possible Causes
Float valve still in raised position, Steam release valve not fully vented, Blocked vent path slowing pressure release, Faulty pressure sensor reading residual pressure
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Never force the lid open while the cooker indicates pressure. Serious burns can result.
- Verify vent position: Ensure the steam release knob or lever is in the "Vent" position to allow pressure to escape.
- Wait for float valve to drop: Observe the float valve; only attempt to open the lid once it has fully dropped.
- Clean vent components: After the unit is cool and open, remove and clean the steam release valve, anti-block shield, and float valve to ensure free movement.
- Test again: On the next use, confirm that pressure builds and releases normally. If the cooker continues to think it is under pressure when it is not, the pressure sensor may be faulty.
