Possible Causes

Inner pot not fully inserted, Lid not locked into position, Deformed lid sensor tab, Dirty or bent pot presence microswitch

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the Brock multicooker before inspecting the lid or inner pot. Allow the unit to cool completely if recently used.

  • Check inner pot seating: Remove the stainless steel inner pot, wipe the outer surface and the heating plate inside the cooker. Reseat the pot so it sits flat and can rotate slightly on the central temperature sensor disc.
  • Verify lid lock position: Close the lid firmly until you hear or feel the latch click. On Brock models with a sliding lock, move the lock to the fully locked icon.
  • Inspect pot presence switch: Look under the rim where the pot sits for a small plastic or metal tab that presses a microswitch. Make sure it is not bent or obstructed by food debris. Clean gently with a soft brush.
  • Clean lid sensor area: On hinged-lid Brock multicookers, check the lid hinge area for a small plastic pin or magnet that engages a sensor. Ensure it is not broken and that no dried food is blocking movement.
  • Test again: Plug the unit back in, select a basic program (e.g., RICE) and press START. If E0 persists with the pot correctly seated, the pot detection or lid sensor circuit may be faulty and professional service is recommended.
