Possible Causes
Failed bottom NTC temperature sensor, Broken wiring harness to sensor, Corroded connector on main control PCB, Damaged main control PCB sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Brock multicooker and let it cool completely before opening any panels.
- Reset the unit: Disconnect power for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in and try a simple program. Transient faults can sometimes clear.
- Inspect sensor area: Remove the inner pot and look at the center of the heating plate. Most Brock multicookers have a spring-loaded metal disc or button that presses against the bottom of the pot. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck with burnt food.
- Check for moisture: If liquid has boiled over recently, moisture may have entered the sensor area. Leave the cooker open in a dry, warm place for several hours to dry out, then test again.
- Advanced check (for experienced users only): If accessible from the bottom, remove the base cover (usually several screws). Locate the two-wire NTC sensor clipped to the center of the heating plate. Check that its connector is firmly seated on the main control PCB and that the wires are not pinched or broken.
- When to call a technician: If E1 remains after drying and reseating connectors, the NTC sensor or main control board likely needs replacement. These parts are live when powered; replacement should be done by a qualified technician.
