Possible Causes
Inner pot not enough liquid, Food stuck and burning on heating plate area, Thermostat or thermal fuse partially failing, Blocked air vents causing heat buildup
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and let it cool. Do not open a pressurized lid until pressure has dropped completely.
- Check food and liquid level: Open the lid once safe. Ensure there is sufficient liquid according to the recipe and Brock manual (usually at least the minimum mark on the inner pot).
- Clean the inner pot bottom: Remove any burnt food stuck to the bottom. A scorched layer can cause localized overheating and trigger E3.
- Clean heating plate: With the pot removed and the unit unplugged, gently clean the heating plate and center sensor disc. Make sure the surface is smooth and free of carbonized residue.
- Check ventilation: Ensure the side and bottom vents of the multicooker are not blocked by towels, cabinets, or other appliances.
- Test again: Add proper liquid, reseat the pot, and run a short program. If E3 recurs quickly, an internal thermostat or thermal fuse may be failing and should be checked by a technician.
