Possible Causes

Faulty pressure sensor on lid or chassis, Blocked pressure sensor tube, Loose pressure sensor connector on control PCB, Damaged wiring harness to pressure sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the multicooker and allow it to cool. Never attempt to disassemble the lid while it is under pressure.

  • Clean pressure sensor port: On many Brock pressure multicookers, a small metal or plastic tube connects the inner pot area to a pressure sensor. Inspect the lid underside or inner rim for a small hole or channel and clear any food residue with a toothpick or soft brush.
  • Clean steam release assembly: Remove the steam release valve cap and anti-block shield (if fitted). Wash them in warm soapy water, rinse, dry thoroughly, and reinstall correctly.
  • Check gasket seating: Ensure the silicone sealing ring on the lid is properly installed, not twisted, and free from damage. An improper seal can prevent pressure from building and confuse the sensor.
  • Test with water only: Add 2–3 cups of water to the inner pot, close and lock the lid, set a short pressure program. Observe if steam escapes continuously from the lid or valve. If E4 appears again and no obvious leaks are visible, the pressure sensor or its wiring may be defective.
  • Service note: Pressure sensor replacement involves opening the lid or chassis and recalibrating; this should be done by an authorized Brock technician.
