Possible Causes

Insufficient liquid in inner pot, Inner pot not installed, Sensor misreading due to burnt residue, Excessive evaporation during long cook

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool slightly before opening the lid.

  • Check liquid level: Open the lid and verify that there is enough water or cooking liquid. Add liquid to at least the minimum level indicated in the Brock manual.
  • Inspect for scorching: If food is stuck and burnt on the bottom, remove it and soak the inner pot. Do not scrape the non-stick coating with metal tools.
  • Clean heating plate: After removing the pot, wipe the heating plate and center sensor disc to remove any residue that may affect temperature sensing.
  • Use correct settings: For long cooking times, choose appropriate programs and ensure recipes include enough liquid to prevent drying out.
  • Test again: Refill with adequate liquid, reseat the pot, and restart the program. If H2O appears immediately with sufficient liquid, the sensor or control board may be faulty and require service.
