Possible Causes

User attempting to open lid while pressure is present, Stuck float valve indicating pressure, Faulty lid lock sensor not detecting safe state

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Never force the lid open while the cooker indicates pressure or while steam is escaping.

  • Allow natural release: Let the cooker sit until the float valve drops and the display no longer shows pressure. This may take 10–30 minutes depending on contents.
  • Use quick release (if recipe allows): Carefully move the steam release valve to VENT, keeping hands and face away from the steam path. Wait until all steam has escaped and the float valve drops.
  • Check float valve movement: Once cool and depressurized, press the float valve up and down from inside the lid. Clean any food residue that may cause sticking.
  • Inspect lid lock: Ensure the lid lock slider moves freely. Clean around the lock area.
  • Service note: If U02 appears even when the cooker is cold and depressurized, the lid lock or float valve sensor may be faulty and should be checked by a technician.
