Possible Causes
Misaligned sealing ring, Cracked lid body near hinge, Loose lid screws, Debris trapped in lid groove
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Avoid contact with escaping steam. Unplug and allow the cooker to cool and depressurize before inspection.
- Remove and reinstall sealing ring: Take out the silicone ring, clean it and the lid groove thoroughly, then reinstall it evenly without twists.
- Tighten lid screws (if accessible): Some Brock lids have screws holding the inner lid plate. Gently tighten them if they appear loose, but do not overtighten.
- Inspect lid for cracks: Look closely around the hinge area and steam outlet for hairline cracks. If found, discontinue use and replace the lid assembly.
- Check for warped lid: If the lid does not sit flat or rocks when closed, the hinge or lid frame may be bent and require replacement.
