Possible Causes
Food residue trapped under sealing ring, Dirty steam release valve and anti-block shield, Odor absorbed into silicone gasket, Mold in condensation collector
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and ensure it is cool before disassembling lid components.
- Deep clean lid: Remove the sealing ring, inner lid plate (if removable), steam release valve, and anti-block shield. Wash all removable parts in warm soapy water, rinse, and dry.
- Clean condensation collector: Remove and wash the condensation cup and its channel.
- Deodorize: Run a short steam cycle with water and a few tablespoons of white vinegar or lemon slices in the inner pot. Vent steam fully afterward.
- Replace sealing ring: If odors persist, replace the silicone sealing ring, as it can absorb strong smells.
