Excessive Foaming / Blocked Anti-Block Shield
Water or starchy liquid spurts out of the steam release valve during pressure cooking.

Possible Causes
Overfilled inner pot beyond max line, Cooking foamy foods (pasta, beans) without enough oil or fat, Clogged anti-block shield under lid, High starch buildup in steam path
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Keep clear of the steam vent. If liquid is spraying, cancel the program and allow pressure to drop naturally. Do not cover the vent.
- 1. Check fill level: Ensure the inner pot is not filled above the recommended maximum for pressure cooking (usually 2/3 full, or 1/2 for beans and grains).
- 2. Clean anti-block shield: Remove the shield under the lid and wash it thoroughly. Clear any starch or food particles.
- 3. Adjust recipes: For foamy foods, add a small amount of oil and avoid using quick-release; use natural release to reduce splatter.
- 4. Rinse steam path: After cooking, run a short steam cycle with just water to flush the vent system.
