Possible Causes
Inner pot not in place or not making good contact, Burnt food stuck to heating plate, Blocked ventilation or fan, Faulty thermal cutoff or thermostat, Defective main control temperature regulation
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker and let it cool completely. Over‑temperature conditions can cause burns and fire risk.
- Check inner pot placement: Ensure the stainless or nonstick inner pot is fully seated and flat on the heating plate. Never operate the cooker without the inner pot.
- Clean the heating plate: Remove the inner pot and gently clean the aluminum heating plate with a soft cloth. Remove any burnt food, sugar, or oil residue that can cause hot spots. Do not scratch the plate.
- Inspect bottom of inner pot: Make sure the bottom is flat and not warped. A warped pot can cause poor contact and localized overheating. Replace the inner pot if deformed.
- Check ventilation: Verify that the side and bottom vents are not blocked by countertops, towels, or other appliances. Provide at least several inches of clearance around the cooker.
- Reset thermal protection (if accessible): Some Cosori models use a manual reset thermostat or thermal fuse on the heating plate. With the unit unplugged and bottom cover removed, look for a small thermostat button; press gently to reset if present. If a thermal fuse is open, it must be replaced.
- Test again: After cleaning and ensuring proper airflow, run a water‑only test (2–3 cups of water) on a low setting. If E3 returns quickly, the thermostat, thermal fuse, or control board may be faulty and should be inspected by a technician.
