Possible Causes

Loose lid sensor connector, Broken lid NTC sensor, Damaged lid wiring harness through hinge, Failed control board sensor input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and allow it to cool. Do not force the lid or hinge while inspecting.

  • Inspect lid area: Open the lid and look for a small metal probe or sensor near the steam release or inner lid. Check for visible damage or corrosion.
  • Check hinge wiring: Many Cosori multicookers route the lid sensor wires through the hinge. Gently inspect the hinge area for pinched or broken wires.
  • Access lid sensor connector: Remove the inner lid and, if possible, the outer lid cover (screws may be hidden under trim). Locate the lid NTC sensor and its connector. Ensure the connector is fully seated.
  • Test sensor continuity: With a multimeter, measure resistance across the lid NTC leads. Compare to the bottom sensor; values should be in a similar kΩ range at room temperature. An open or shorted reading indicates a bad sensor.
  • Replace lid sensor: If faulty, install a new Cosori lid NTC temperature sensor and route the harness carefully through the hinge to avoid future flex damage.
  • Control board diagnosis: If the sensor and wiring are good but E4 persists, the main control board may be defective. Seek professional service for board replacement.
