Possible Causes
Misaligned lid lock pin, Broken lid lock microswitch, Damaged lid lock solenoid, Loose lid lock wiring harness
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the cooker before working near the lid lock mechanism. Do not force the lid closed with excessive pressure.
- Check lid closure: Ensure the lid is fully closed and rotated to the locked position. Listen for the click of the lock engaging.
- Inspect lock pin and ring: Look at the metal or plastic locking pin and mating ring on the lid. Clean any food residue or dried starch that may prevent full engagement.
- Test lid switch (basic): With the unit unplugged, gently press the lid lock mechanism with a non‑metal tool and listen for a distinct click from the microswitch. If there is no click or it feels mushy, the switch may be faulty.
- Access lid lock assembly: Remove the top cover (screws under trim) to expose the lid lock solenoid and switch. Check that the wiring harness is firmly connected to the main board.
- Replace faulty components: If the microswitch is broken or the solenoid does not actuate when powered (advanced testing), replace the entire Cosori lid lock assembly.
- Re‑test: Reassemble and test with a water‑only cycle. If E7 persists, the control board input for the lid switch may be defective and require professional service.
