Possible Causes
Lid not fully rotated to lock position, Obstructed lid locking tabs, Misaligned lid position sensor, Faulty lid closed switch
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is cool and not under pressure before manipulating the lid.
- Verify lid orientation: Align the lid arrows (if present) and rotate until you hear a firm click. Some Cosori models require a specific alignment mark to be at the front.
- Check for obstructions: Inspect the lid locking tabs and mating slots on the body for dried food, rice, or debris. Clean thoroughly.
- Inspect lid sensor area: On some models, a small magnet or plastic nub on the lid activates a reed switch or microswitch in the body. Ensure the magnet/nub is intact and not broken off.
- Test lid switch (basic): With the unit unplugged, press the lid closed and listen for a click from the internal switch. If no click is heard, the switch may be misaligned or faulty.
- Adjust or replace switch: If accessible, slightly adjust the position of the lid switch bracket so the lid actuator engages it fully. If the switch is defective, replace the Cosori lid position switch.
