Possible Causes

Insufficient liquid in pot, Thick sauces sticking to bottom, Blocked heat dissipation vents, Faulty thermal cutoff or NTC sensor

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug the cooker and let it cool. Do not add large amounts of cold liquid to a very hot pot.

  • Check liquid level: Open the lid when safe and verify there is enough liquid. Add water or broth if the contents are too thick or nearly dry.
  • Deglaze the bottom: Use a wooden spoon and a small amount of liquid to scrape any stuck food from the bottom of the inner pot.
  • Clean vents: Ensure side and bottom vents are free of dust and obstructions to allow proper cooling.
  • Run a water test: After cleaning, cook 2–3 cups of water on a standard program. If OvHt triggers again with plain water, inspect the bottom NTC sensor and thermal cutoff for proper operation and replace if faulty.
