Cosori
Residual Pressure / Mechanical Lid Lock Jam
Lid is stuck and will not open after cooking
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Residual pressure in pot, Float valve stuck in up position, Warped lid components jamming lock, Faulty lid lock mechanism
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Do not force the lid open. Forcing can cause sudden release of hot steam and food.
- Check pressure indicator: Verify that the float valve has dropped. If it is still up, there may be residual pressure.
- Gently vent steam: Carefully move the steam release valve to Venting using a long utensil. If steam escapes, wait until it stops completely.
- Tap float valve: Once cool, gently tap the float valve from the top with a spoon to free it if stuck.
- Inspect lid lock: After opening, inspect the lid lock pin and surrounding plastic for deformation. Clean any food residue.
- Replace lock assembly: If the lock mechanism is damaged or binding, replace the Cosori lid lock assembly to prevent future sticking.
