Possible Causes
Loose thermistor connection on main board, Broken thermistor lead under heater plate, Failed thermistor, Damaged control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit and let it cool completely. Internal electrical checks should only be done if you are comfortable working with appliances.
- External reset: Unplug the cooker for 10 minutes to discharge the control board. Plug back in and attempt a simple Sauté cycle with the lid open. If E3 reappears immediately, the sensor circuit is likely faulty.
- Check for physical damage: Remove the inner pot and inspect the heater plate area. If you see any melted plastic, discoloration, or loose wires visible through vents, discontinue use.
- Internal inspection (advanced): If you have experience, remove the bottom cover (after unplugging) and visually inspect the thermistor leads from the heater plate to the control board. Look for broken wires or loose connectors and reseat any plug-in connectors firmly.
- Do not bypass sensors: Never short or bypass the thermistor or thermal fuse; this can create a fire hazard.
- Service recommendation: If E3 persists after a reset and visual inspection, the thermistor or main control board will likely need replacement by a professional.
