Possible Causes
Inner pot still very hot from previous cycle, Overheated heater plate, Faulty temperature sensor reading high, Inadequate cooling time between cycles
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Use oven mitts when handling the inner pot. Steam and hot surfaces can cause burns.
- Allow cooling time: Open the lid carefully (after ensuring pressure is released) and remove the inner pot. Place it on a heat-safe surface to cool. Leave the cooker unplugged with the lid open for 20–30 minutes.
- Check for burned-on food: Clean any scorched food from the bottom of the inner pot and heater plate. Heavy buildup can cause localized overheating.
- Restart after cooling: Once the cooker and pot are at room temperature, plug back in and try a low-heat program like Keep Warm or Slow Cook to verify normal operation.
- Sensor issue: If HOT appears even when the unit is cold, the temperature sensor may be faulty and reading incorrectly. In that case, discontinue use and seek service.
