Possible Causes

Residual pressure in cooking chamber, Blocked steam release valve, Faulty pressure switch not detecting zero pressure, Stuck float valve

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Never force the lid open while the cooker is under pressure. Serious injury can result.

  • Manual pressure release: Carefully move the steam release valve to the Vent position using a utensil. Keep your face and hands away from the steam path.
  • Check float valve: Observe the float (small metal or plastic pin) in the lid. It should drop down once pressure is fully released. If it remains up, gently tap the lid to free it.
  • Clear valve blockage: After the unit cools, remove and clean the steam release valve and anti-block shield (if present) to remove food particles.
  • Wait for full cool-down: If PRSS remains even after venting, unplug the unit and allow it to cool completely. The internal pressure switch may reset as temperature drops.
  • Service if persistent: A faulty pressure switch or sensor that does not detect zero pressure should be replaced by a technician.
