Possible Causes
Not enough liquid in inner pot, Thick sauces preventing boiling, Sensor algorithm detecting dry condition, User selected pressure mode without water
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Ensure the cooker is cool enough to open safely and that any pressure has been released.
- Check liquid level: Open the lid and verify there is at least the minimum amount of liquid recommended by Cuisinart (often 1–2 cups). Add water or broth as needed.
- Avoid thick-only contents: If cooking thick sauces, chili, or pasta, ensure there is enough thin liquid to generate steam. Stir to distribute liquid evenly.
- Clean heater plate: Remove the inner pot and wipe the heater plate to remove any residue that could affect heat transfer.
- Retry program: Reinsert the pot, close and lock the lid, set the pressure valve to Seal, and restart the program.
- If WATR persists with adequate liquid: The dry-boil detection may be miscalibrated due to a sensor fault. Contact service for diagnosis.
