Possible Causes

Worn membrane contacts, Stuck button due to spilled liquid, Failed tact switch on PCB, Cracked control panel overlay

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Unplug before working on the panel.

  • Clean surface: Wipe the control panel with a slightly damp cloth and mild detergent, then dry. Do not allow liquid to seep into the edges.
  • Check for stuck keys: Press each button individually to feel for sticking. If stuck, gently work the button to free it.
  • Open panel: Remove the panel and inspect the keypad membrane and tact switches. Look for corrosion or physical damage.
  • Replace worn parts: Replace the keypad membrane or individual tact switches if they no longer click or register.

Persistent unresponsiveness across multiple keys usually requires replacing the entire keypad/control panel assembly.
