Multicooker does not start cooking; display shows E01 shortly after pressing Start

Safety first: Unplug the Daewoo multicooker before any inspection. Never bypass the lid lock for operation under pressure.

• Check lid closure: Open and close the lid several times. Ensure the lid clicks firmly and the rubber gasket is seated evenly. Remove any food debris around the latch area.
• Inspect lid latch and hook: With the unit unplugged, examine the metal/plastic latch hook on the lid and the catch on the body. If bent or loose, gently realign or tighten visible screws.
• Test lid lock switch: With the lid open, locate the small lid lock pin or switch actuator on the body rim. Press it gently with a non-metal tool; it should move freely. If stuck, clean with a soft brush and a slightly damp cloth, then dry thoroughly.
• Check wiring (visual): If comfortable removing the top cover (usually screws under the lid rim), inspect the lid lock microswitch wiring harness for loose connectors or obvious damage. Re-seat any loose plug firmly.
• Reset the cooker: Reassemble, plug in, and perform a reset by holding the Cancel/Off button for 3–5 seconds, then try a short program with water only.

If E01 persists after cleaning and reseating connectors, the lid lock assembly or lid position sensor likely needs replacement.
